Spiritual Care at St. Joseph’s
Pastoral Care ~ Kathy Poupart, Director of Spiritual Services
The spiritual care of the residents is an integral part of ensuring a holistic approach to care at St. Joseph Nursing Home. The staff in the Spiritual Services Office works to actively engage residents in their spiritual care and to create an environment where the resident can meet their God completely and fully.
This is accomplished through Catholic and also Inter-faith worship services, anointing, “Bible Talk” – a scripture-based faith sharing group, and the recitation of the Rosary. The residents are welcome to participate in any or all of these activities as they desire.
Care while a resident is in the hospital continues with hospital visits by the pastoral care staff. Being present to a resident and their family during the resident’s final days is another way that we bring comfort and compassion.
Attention and upkeep of the entire person – body, mind, and soul – is a hallmark of St. Joseph’s, and it is one that we are proud to maintain.
