In 1966, a committee was formed to survey and analyze the need for a Catholic nursing home in the greater Utica area.   The results indicated a need that was certain and immediate.

In 1968, the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm were invited to consider staffing the new facility.   Mother Angeline Teresa, Foundress and Superior General, accepted the invitation.  The groundbreaking took place on April 9, 1970, and the dedication of the Home was held on December 13, 1971.
